Hi, welcome to Business Growth Central, where every week, we try to give you little tools and strategies and insights that will help you to grow your business, to be more successful, to get better at getting and keeping customers.
And one tool that has been an integral part of my business now for several years is something that I have talked about quite frequently from stage and events, but which not enough people in EC are even giving a try, let alone embracing and utilising. But those that are embracing it and using it properly are seeing stellar results. So ladies and gentlemen, for this episode of Business Growth Central, I give you BombBomb.
So what BombBomb does is, it allows you to send video messages, either of yourself talking, or indeed of your computer screen, and it embeds them directly in the email. There's no kind of uploading and rendering anything at all, and people just click on the video and they play. So it's a brilliant way to get you in front of your potential customers.
Why would you want to do that, I wonder? Well, because we all know that people buy people. And if, when you're corresponding with your prospects or your potential customers, you're just relying on text, what you're allowing to be removed from the whole sales process is you, the secret sauce. You lose all the nuances when you are staying with the typed word. It comes alive in video, all those little subtle gestures, facial expressions, that help us connect as human beings. And this is fundamentally why BombBomb is such a powerful tool.
Now, it has a lot of other advantages as well. It is ridiculously easy to use. I'll show you in a minute, but it also surprises people. I mean, genuinely, most weeks, somebody that I send a BombBomb video to will come back to me, "That was clever," or some kind of impressive... It wowed them. Isn't that what we all want to do as business owners?
And it's so cost-effective. You can start using it for $29 a month as a subscription on BombBomb. But the advantages get better. So now, not only is it super easy to record video, also way quicker, so you save a lot of time. My main reason for starting to use BombBomb was it's a lot easier for me to say something, as I'm doing now, than it would be to type it out. Can you imagine if I'd had to write an article to you explaining the powers advantage of BombBomb? It would have taken me several hours to do properly, whereas actually, I can record the video in several minutes.
All you got to do if you're on your desktop is open an email, as you see here, click the little BombBomb button that's downloaded, and you get to choose whether to just use the camera, using your webcam here, or whether you want to use screen recorder. I want to choose camera only. For this one, I'm going to launch the recorder, and here it comes, and you see there, there's me. Hey, Matt, you're on.
So I simply hit record, gives me the little countdown. Hi, everybody. I'm just showing you how to use a BombBomb video, how simple and straightforward and easy it is. Click the button to finish. As you see, it prepares it there. I hit save, I copy it for email, and I simply stick it in there. And I can send that email to anyone I want, all my EC friends, and it plays in there, as you can see. And it's just as easy to do it on your phone. You don't have to use a desktop. You can use your phone as well. Super, super simple.
It has a bigger impact with the person that receives your message because they get to see you, and it differentiates you. It shows that you are a progressive, forward-thinking business and business owner, and it helps you to connect much more strongly. But you don't have to take my word for this, and the trigger for this week's episode was a little message I got. Strangely enough, it was a BombBomb video from a guy called Mark Hammond, who many of you will know. He runs the most recommended marquee hire business in the country. And Mark has been part of my inner circle group for several years now, and I have been pushing him, encouraging him, nudging him, urging him to use BombBomb as part of his sales process. Well, he sent me this last night.

A big thumbs up and a thank you for the constant reminders of how good BombBomb is. I hadn't really used it properly until about a month ago. And we've been using it a lot for our long-term hires to explain things, because it's very difficult to explain how things work and how... And then, there's this guy, Jason [Lyfett 00:05:25], runs an IT support company. Someone else within EC, a business owner just like you, who has taken the leap of faith, put his big boy pants on, sucked a bravery pill and gave BombBomb a try.

I sent out only about 15 videos. Every single person came back, telling me how cool it was. In fact, several of them said that they wanted me to show them how to do it so they could use it in their marketing. We got, out of the 15, two recommendations, of which one turned out to be the £90,000,000 new client, just from a simple BombBomb video.
So if you take out the 50 outtakes, it took about 20 minutes to do, so I tried it again soon after. This time, I only sent out one, just one BombBomb, to an old prospect who almost signed with us two years ago, but didn't. I thought I'd try it. If he deletes it, it doesn't matter. Guess what? He replied and came on board as a new client, as a direct result of that video. So BombBomb is really simple to use, it gets the message across. And I'm guessing, as long as you don't drone on forever, it's pretty cool to watch.
